    I felt that opening statement. I’m 32 and I’m figuring out what childhood dream to fulfill next. I’ve done two so far - go to a Coldplay concert and learn Japanese (still working on the latter of course!) The hardest part is that first step but once you get going, it makes you realize how much better your life is with that activity and you appreciate it more. Eventually the regrets of not starting when you were younger will be a distant memory.

    Hi, congratulations on your self-published book. I will purchase your book because I need ideas and visual stimulation to get my book published by the end of the year. I have been writing for a few years and do know that there is a book that I am supposed to publish. I have pages, post its, and journals that I have written, and they are scattered in many places. Thank you for sharing this process and your book.

    Lol if it makes u feel any better at a certain point (takes like 8 months give or take) DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) does kind of go away or atleast u build up a tolerance so ur not debilitated when it does happen. But once u get to that point u can never stop excercising. After u get to that point if u stop for a prolonged period of time (for me it's more than a week) then u will notice ur body whilst not in muscular pain will start to experience weird new pains u didn't have before that require u to excercise to get rid of and ur energy levels will take a massive dip

    Are their illustrations/drawings/pictures on the inside of your book? How important are illustrations on the inside pages to maybe accompany each poem?

    • @tatysapp
      @tatysapp 7 місяців тому

      I only have a few illustrations, at the beginning and the end of my book. I think that's definitely up to each writer how they envision their book. Initially I wanted multiple illustrations, but as the book formed I didn't feel having them included would fit the book format.

    Great video! Question: I’m also working on a collection of poetry. How do you know/decide when it’s done? So far I’ve kinda just chosen a theme or subject for the collection, and gathered some of my already existing pieces to start. And I’m just continuing to build on that. But I’m not really sure when I should aim to call it “done”, other than choosing a somewhat arbitrary piece or page count. Thoughts?

    • @tatysapp
      @tatysapp Рік тому

      That's a really good question. So for my first book I picked a release date (it was 2022 & I wanted the release to be 4/4/22 lol) and after I had about 75% of the book done I aimed to finish it before the release date. The new book I'm working on I aimed to compile at least 100 pieces before I even start editing. I suggest you start looking into self publishing sites now, start to get an idea of cover art, page minimums, etc. and once you have an author copy decide from there if it feels "done".

      @@joseromero9933 hey!! So the copyright process was a lot easier than I expected, you can copyright unpublished work but you will have to pay and file copyright again after you publish, so it can be a waste of money. What you're able to do is file fro copyright when you start taking pre-orders for your book. I set up preorders a month before my book was officially published and received my copyright letter the DAY my book was available for general orders. Ebook is easy, you don't necessarily need an ISBN for ebooks but you can get one for both. And Amazon KDP if you publish solely with them you can get the ISBN for both for free.
